About PureTribe

My story

Welcome!

My name is Elisa, and I am the founder of PureTribe. I’m an entrepreneur, passionate about organic beauty and sustainability. Back in 2014, during my bachelor’s degree, I was dealing with a terrible body aching during a very stressful period at Uni, and I started to ask myself ‘what if this ache is caused by some products that I am using, and my skin is trying to tell me something?’. I was living with my grandad in a small village outside the campus, spending most of my time studying for my degree. During the evenings, I started learning about organic products, ingredients and companies already working in that field. The best part was that I learned a lot through research, and studies but mostly with direct testing of products on myself.

The area was populated with small independent businesses, producing organic beauty products, so I started to improve my knowledge. I realised very quickly how harmful most of our day-to-day products are to human health, especially the younger we are, and how certain chemicals are polluting the environment.

Almost 8 years after, I decided to unwind this passion into a business. I am expanding my network and am determined to inspire people by offering the best products to all the tribers out there!

Thank you for reading,

The brand’s name

The brand name ‘PureTribe’ occurred from my passion for Africa, a place I visited a few times and where I felt deeply attached to nature. The term Tribes is still used in many different contexts to refer to a category of human social groups.

In the popular imagination, tribes reflect a primordial social structure from which all subsequent civilizations and states developed. Membership of a tribe can be identified by the nation they live in and more in general for their behaviour and social decisions.

The greatest definition of a ‘Tribe’ comes from H. Fried in The Notion of Tribe where he stated that ‘tribes are characterized by fluid boundaries, heterogeneity, and dynamism, and are not parochial’.

The term Pure relates to the simplicity of life, the pursuit of quality, and the truthfulness that the company is willing to offer to our ‘tribers’.

The idea behind the Logo

During the development of the company idea, I designed the Logo looking for the best way to communicate the company’s values. The woman’s appearance is linear and genuine, leaves grown on her head to symbolise the perfect fusion between nature and humankind.

PureTribe makes no distinctions, no fake promises. Our face is a fine line that characterises us… round, oval, long or heart-shaped…

We only need to love the skin we’re in!
